Semarang, August 20, 2025 – A proud moment comes from Diponegoro University (Undip). Dr. Fitriyono Ayustaningwarno and team, lecturers at the Department of Nutrition, Faculty of Medicine, has been selected as one of the Top 10 Candidate for the 2025 Central Java Development Research Award, organized by the Central Java Regional Research and Innovation Agency (BRIDA).

This achievement was earned through his research titled “Composition of Minerals and Volatile Organic Components of Non-Centrifugal Cane Sugars from Japan and ASEAN Countries.” The study is considered to make a significant contribution to the advancement of nutrition and food science while offering practical benefits for regional development, particularly in the fields of nutrition, food, and health.

According to the official announcement by BRIDA Central Java, the top ten candidate were chosen through a rigorous selection process involving presentations and interviews with the judging panel. All candidates are the winner of this award and they will receive an award package consisting of a Governor’s Certificate, a trophy, and a monetary prize. In addition, they are required to prepare and finalize a Policy Brief that will serve as policy recommendations for Central Java’s development.

Dr. Fitriyono expressed his gratitude and pride for this recognition. For him, the achievement not only reflects personal and team appreciation but also brings honor to Undip in the field of nutrition and food research.

“This is a real example of how research can directly contribute to regional development. I hope that this work can provide useful policy recommendations to support local food development and improve community nutrition,” he stated.

His success also reaffirms the commitment of the Department of Nutrition at Undip to support innovative research that aligns with the needs of sustainable development.
