Department of Nutrition Science Faculty of Medicine Undip Expands International Collaboration with TEAGASC through Visiting Professor Online 2025

Department of Nutrition Science Faculty of Medicine Undip further strengthened its international research collaboration by organizing another Visiting Professor Online session as part of WCU 2025.

The event, conducted online on September 21, 2025, featured Ahmed Rady, PhD (H-Index 17), a researcher from TEAGASC – The Agriculture and Food Development Authority, Dublin, Ireland. He also served as an invited professor and speaker at the International Conference Nutrifest 2025.

In his presentation titled “The Application of Optical Sensing for Food Quality and Safety,” Dr. Rady highlighted the application of optical sensing technologies in improving food quality assessment and safety monitoring. He also shared research innovations from TEAGASC related to functional food development, emphasizing the integration of advanced analytical technology in food science research.

The session was attended by approximately 150 participants, including faculty members, students, and international participants. The interactive discussion generated 25 questions, primarily addressing opportunities for joint research, technological integration in food analysis, and collaboration in developing Indonesian traditional foods with bioactive potential.

One of the significant achievements of the program was the agreement to prepare a joint publication entitled “Application of Bioactive Compounds in Indonesian Traditional Foods,” targeted for submission to a reputable Scopus-indexed journal in the first quarter of 2026. A commitment letter was also established to ensure continued collaboration, including future guest lectures and manuscript clinics scheduled for 2026.

This initiative further strengthens the Department’s international academic network, enhances its global research visibility, and represents a concrete step toward sustainable global collaboration in nutrition and food technology research.
